Google has literally stolen the thunder of Apple’s big event to be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014. And man, you gotta give it to Google! The next generation, Motorola-built Nexus 6 is out! Sporting the latest or in Google’s words, the sweetest thing till date, Android Lollipop or ‘L’, it is finally unveiled for all of us to see, marvel and explore.
Google Nexus series is a line of mobile-devices that run on Android operating system. Google itself manages the design, marketing and support but the development and all the manufacturing part is carried out by the third party. This third party has varied from time to time like- HTC, Samsung,LG.
History of Nexus smartphones.
- Nexus One which was manufactured by HTC and was launched in the year January 2010.
- Samsung Nexus S was launched in end of same year (December 2010).
- Samsung Galaxy Nexus was launched in the November 2011.
- LG Nexus 4 was launched in the year 2012 which broke all the records in terms of sales & performance.
- Recently Google launched its Nexus 5 which was again manufactured by LG and was the first smart phone to use Android 4.4 named Kitkat as its OS. Even this smart phone broke all the records in terms of sales .
Now its time for Nexus 6. Google Nexus 6 will be the next Nexus smartphone which will be manufactured by Motorola . LG has official denied that it will not be manufacturing the next NEXUS 6.
Google Nexus 6 is built by Motorola and will be available in Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe for sale by next month. As Nexus phones have always taken cue from the existing smartphones and then combined the best of each, this one is also no different in that way. Nexus Phone 6 is a rehashed version of Moto X, although bigger and better.

It is expected that the Nexus 6 will have a screen size of 5.0-5.2 inches. Nexus 4 had a screen size of 4.7 inches, where as Nexus 5 was having 5.0 inches screen size, so you all must be expecting that the new Nexus 6 will have screen size much bigger than 5.0 inches. But this trend may not be followed because in order to make its smartphone more handy, Google might keep the screen size to 5.0-5.2 inches.

The Nexus flagship packs Snapdragon 805 Qualcomm processor clocking in at 2.7GHZ and with 3GB RAM. The internal storage versions available with these smartphones are 32GB and 64GB. it is supported by the Adreno 420 GPU and an equally powerful 3GB RAM.

Its OS, Android L was showcased in the last June and Nexus 6 is the first device to sport it. The OS is fresh and hosts brand-new features. Unlike earlier versions of Android, this OS is simpler and colorful.

The smartphone offers a 13MP rear camera with optical image stablisation and ring flash with dual LEDs. The handset also features a 2MP front camera to assist you with selfies and video calls.

The Nexus 6 is equipped with the usual connectivity options including dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, 3G, GPS and microUSB.

This phones has a built-in compass which is used for GPS navigation. It also has a proximity sensor which senses nearby objects, an accelerometer which tracks your movements, a gyroscope which tracks your phone’s orientation and an ambient noise reduction feature which reduces nearby sounds.

PRICE AND VERDICT:
The recent updates suggest that the latest factory unlocked Nexus smartphone of 64GB will be launched at par with the price of iPhone 6 and at approximately, $649 whereas Google Nexus 6 without contract will be sold at $699. The interesting point here to note is that apart from Motorola and Google, the flagship will be sold via the U.S. carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile too for the first time ever. T-Mobile is even offering Nexus 6 flagship at zero down payment and with a two-year contract.
The Google Nexus 6 redefines the Nexus experience with a great combo of hardware and software.
